Week 4 | Image as Persuasion | #oneperday18
In this series of 5 images I had to design ads for different demographics. The objects that I have choose to focus on is a visual diary.
Title: Just Draw- Young Adult (age 20-25)

Technique: 4H pencil for sketching, eraser, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.8, brush fine liners, white pigment gel ink for touch up and erasing mistakes, 110gsm paper

Process: I wanted to create art that is popping out of the page, showcasing the amazing things that can be created within the visual diary. I started with drawing the design with pencil, I then outlined the design with the fine liners, I then added details with the gel pen. I then drawn the words Just Draw.

Reflection: I loved doing the illustration for this demographic, the style of the drawing was based off tattoo designs. There is a lot of empty space, I could have added a different animal somewhere. This drawing here is pretty much how I would imagine the actual ad would look like.
Title: Free your Imagination- Young kids (age 3-7)

Technique: 4H pencil for sketching, eraser, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.8, brush fine liners, white pigment gel ink for touch up and erasing mistakes, 110gsm paper

Process: Similarly to the fist design, I wanted to create art that is popping out of the page, showcasing the amazing things that can be created within the visual diary. I started with drawing the design with pencil, I then outlined the design with the fine liners, I then added details with the gel pen. I then added the slogan Free your Imagination.

Reflection: I loved doing the illustration for this demographic, the style is a doodle style, which I enjoy doing it's very loose and fun, which would appeal to young kids due to their freeing nature.
Title: Let's Draw Together- Families (age 35- 55 and kids)
Technique: 4H pencil for sketching, eraser, 0.3, 0.6 fine liners, white pigment gel ink for touch up and erasing mistakes, 110gsm paper

Process: I wanted to focus on making a fun family environment. So I created this scene with a family drawing and showing off their drawings. I started with drawing the design with pencil, I then outlined the design with the fine liners, I then added details with the gel pen. I then drawn the words Let's Draw Together.

Reflection: I designed the scene to be lighthearted and happy. I think I achieved this, I should have used a variety of lines.
Title: Draw your Life- (over 70's)

Technique: 5H, 4H, 2B pencil, eraser

Process: I wanted to show the progression of time and how much memories can be stored in visual diaries. So the ad shows the life of a man and his wife throughout the years. I started with a sketch I then outlined my sketch by outlining them with a harder pencil. I then added a the slogan Draw your Life.

Reflection: I don't think I designed this well, I don't think it advertises the product well because it isn't as clear as it could be.
Title: Free you Imagination- Final rendering

Technique: 4H pencil for sketching, eraser, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.8, brush fine liners, white pigment gel ink for touch up and erasing mistakes, Copic markers, 110gsm paper

Process: I wanted to make this drawing a final rendering because it would be fun to see it in full colour. I started with drawing the design with pencil, I then outlined the design with the fine liners. I started adding colour by using my Copic markers. I then added details with the gel pen. I then drawn the words Just Draw.

Reflection: I loved doing the illustration for this demographic how this turned out, I like how colourful and bright the final piece is. With the added colour it makes the ad look more appealing.
